ICE's programs rely primarily on its human resources. ICF has always been concerned with the quality and the development of its staff, volunteers and professionals involved in cancer control.

In collaboration with UICC (Union Internationale Contre le Cancer), in 1981, ICF held its first international course, the UICC Post Graduate Course on Clinical Cancer Chemotherapy. In 1993, also in collaboration with UICC a Cancer Nursing Course was held in Jakarta. This was the first course of its kind held in Indonesia. Routinely ICF organizes pap smear trainings for medical staff throughout Indonesia.

Together with the Indonesian Association of Pathologists, the 1CF set up courses for cytology screeners.

In cooperation with the Medical Faculty of the University of Indonesia in Jakarta, a course in prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer for fresh graduates from the medical faculty was initiated in 1988.

Since 1996 these courses are organized annually with the Indonesian Society of Oncology (ISO).

In 2001, the ICF and ISO changed the system into a Train the Trainers course. The first step is to recruite trainers for course design. Followed by publishing a handbook about basic knowledge of cancer and standardize course material to be used throughout Indonesia.

To support programs in this section i.e. Hospice Home Care, Reach to Recovery and the Indonesian Ostomy Association, ICE organizes courses to update the knowledge of volunteers involved.
